I've been hearing a lot about Betelgeuse lately, and I hadn't realised how immensely huge it is. So I decided to make this short video which shows the size of Betelgeuse as compared to our Sun and the Solar System.

The relative sizes of our Sun, the orbits of the planets and Betelgeuse are completely accurate! The numbers:

Diameter of the sun: 1.39 million km
Orbit of Earth: 300 million km
Orbit of Jupiter: 1556 million km
Diameter of Betelgeuse: 2100 million km

Obviously, the *location* of Betelgeuse is not realistic. It is not actually located in our solar system, in reality it is 650 light years away!
