Part One of this rarely seen 1967 video produced by NASA to showcase the work of early lunar probes in identifying potential Apollo landing sites. Even though humans have been gazing at the detail of the moon since Galileo, this film documents how little we knew about the surface detail until our first spacecraft visited the moon. Includes footage from Ranger, Surveyor, and the Lunar Orbiters. Part educational, but all informational, this nice historic film presents yet another aspect of the manned missions to the moon.
