Gary Cooper is playing Howard Roark and Patricia Neal portrays Dominique Francon in this 1949 Movie "The Fountainhead".

There are some truly romantic dialogues in this scene....

Neal says to Cooper...

If it gives you pleasure to know that you are breaking me down, I will give you a greater satisfaction, I love you..... I have no pride left to stop me, I love you without dignity, without regret.

And then there are dialogues on human values...

Neal to Cooper...

They hate you because of the greatness of your achievement, they hate you for your integrity, they hate you because they know they can neither corrupt you nor rule you.

  • <3 Why is he so dang good looking!??!

  • Gawd, his loooong fingers cover her whole face.. Loved Gary Cooper on everything he did, but only remember him on High Moon the most..also Ms Neal on Hud, with another hotty, Paul Newman! Lucky girl.. :)

  • when he is first lying back on the chair when she comes in the room his chest rises up and down quite noticeably, like he is nervous/very attracted to her IMO

  • @mrsummerseve

Ayn Rand was not good with dialogue.

  • Wow, that is some terribly written dialogue.

  • Why is Roark and Dominique seem so old in this play if in the book their like 26 and 24 the play is good but the characters don't fit the role.....LOVE THE BOOK

  • i read the book and i couldnt understand it. both rourke and dominique seemed phychotic and bent on destroying each other. you dont get to do all they did in real life and get away with it.

  • ''don't laugh i can''...she's adorable!!!

  • @TheGladeGirl thank u so much .... i wish ... :-) n i love him more n more ...

  • @LukeStarr69 when was that?I was lucky to have been aquainted with her for over 30 yrs..gave her a big mothers day kiss this year..and luckily saw her 4 days before she passed away here on the vineyard
