  • CLIMATEGATE shows we have been SCAMMED by alvie gorie. HUGEST SCANDAL.

  • Yup - and just imagine how much time, energy and money was wasted on all the "studies", meetings, schemings, etc. Let's hope this brings the whole issue to an end; it never should have been a concern.

  • It's not as set in stone as that. CO2 only makes up for about 0.03% of out atmosphere. normal air... is obviously 100%so the experiment is slightly flawed as you can draw very little conclusin from it

  • Using 100% should intensify the effect. If very little conclusion can be drawn from it, then the same must be said of the climate models since they don't even qualify as an experiment.

  • That's a statistically insignificant sample. Your experiment is analogous to pumping CCl3F (a known refrigerant) into a jar and comparing its refrigerating capabilities with air.

CO2 is known to absorb infrared radiation at 15 microns. This is not a theory. This is a proven FACT.

And yes, of course it is different from other atmospheric gases. Every gas has a different spectroscopy and albedo potential.

  • 100% CO2 would not be "statistically insignificant" to see if it trapped more heat than the rest of the atmosphere. If

.004% of the atmosphere absorbs enough radiation to cause global warming, then the container with 100% CO2 should absorb much more radiation and measure warmer.

btw, why does industry use CO2 to keep things cold?

  • No more than any other part of the atmosphere. If CO2 trapped more heat than the rest of the atmospheric gases, then any container with more CO2 in it would measure warmer. And what's really funny is that CO2 is used in the food industry to keep things cold.

  • ?

    What do you mean?

Do you think that CO2 is not a greenhouse gas?

  • No more than any other part of the atmosphere, or 100% CO2 would trap more heat in a container.

  • Eeeeh... CO2 is not warmer than normal air. It CAUSES warmth in the sense that it traps the suns heat inside our atmosphere.
