I mix up a batch of Spectrum Sludge showing the thickness difference between the base stock Spectrum, with half a bottle of the Sludge activator added, and with a full bottle of activator added.

  • how on earth do you apply it?

  • When it's that thick you'll typically end up applying it with a putty knife or even put on a rubber glove and slather it on by hand.

  • Many thanks looks like good gear biggest problem i can see is that the drying time if used on floors must mean you need to park the car up for a couple of days..

  • Yeah drying time can be an issue so it's definitely best if you can apply it on a somewhat warm day. I think when I applied it at 3mm thick to my wheel wells it took about six hours for it to be dry to the touch and overnight it was almost completely dry.

  • This stuff DOES eventually dry correct?

  • Yes. It cures to to a hardness similar to undercoating.

  • If you brush it on using the half bottle of activator method, will the brush marks flaten out or will you see brush marks when it drys?

  • @SecondSkinRep 30 days holy shit!! so can i play my stereo in between that time period?!?

  • Yeahm it dries. Takes 30 full days to cure like every other water based damper but will be dry to to the touch in 24-48 hours depending on the temperature and humidity level.

  • It's a proprietary thickening catalyst specially made for the Spectrum vibration coating. It gives you the ability to control the thickness of the Spectrum, from pudding thickness, to mashed potatoes thickness, all the way to almost cement thickness. Just amazing stuff.
