I just saw her sing at a benefit at my school. She's still got the same phenomenal instrument and still has the body of a 24 year old. She is STUNNING!!!

She sang everything Beverly Sills gave her at NYCO in the early eighties. Always wonderful. In one season, I saw her as Violetta, Gilda and Mimi. This is just beautiful.

What I recall, is that KB was mean to the wardrobe mistress, who happened to be the wife of the the lighting director.
At the finale to the opera, when everyone is singing in the spotlight, only KB is left outside, in the dark. It was sweet revenge, I suppose.
I had heard that story back then, and you can see KB standing outside the spotlight if you have a copy of this performance.
She was wonderful in this performance, by the way.

This was one of the greatest Figaros I've ever seen. The cast was fantastic.
And wasn't this the famous production where the lighting man left Kathleen Battle in the dark at the finale because she was mean to his wife?
