This is a quickie video. I put it together over the last 3 days. Before that my face was burned too bad to put on the camera. I was filling my lighter with butane, and overfilled it a bit. No problem. Then I grabbed the candle I wanted to light. No Problem. THEN... I leande over the candle so I'd be able to line up the flame with the wick whenever my lighter would quit blowing off the extra fuel. When I pulled the trigger to light it, there apparently was a "puddle" of fuel between me and the candle. AND there was also a puddle of oxygen mixing with it. I didn't know any of that till it was FAR TOO LATE!!! When it flashed into a ball of blue-white fire, I inhaled it into my nostrils without thinking. It was seeking the source of the oxygen, and it found it inside of my nose. That made another problem, because I couldn't put the flames out with my hands. As the skin melted into my hands I remembered the 5 gallon water bucket I keep for my dog. I literally DIVED face-first into the water bucket to put out the fire that had just kept growing bigger every second. It took less than 10 seconds start to finish, and as i grabbed the ice to put on it I knew I had to go to the hospital. I'll have to do another video later with the details.

  • I worked with oxygen all my life, so I was a bit careless about having it feeding in my face. Oxygen mixing with flame is the difference between whhooommmmpph or KABOOM!!! Whhooommmmpph is the slow ignition with only the normal percentage of oxygen in the air. KABOOM = faster explosion that happens when there's extra oxygen puddled where fire starts.(my face) Look @ a candle, Flame = yellow. Look at torch that sucks in oxygen, Flame = blue. Yellow = 800 degrees Blu = 1600 degrees. My nose had Ox

  • My nose had oxygen in it as did my face and beard. When I went to light the candle right after filling the propane lighter, the extra oxygen was mixed with the extra butane from the lighter, and the mixture was just waiting for a spark so it could explode into blue fireball. When it did that it ran up my nose to get more oxygen AND more fuel was found when the oxygen hose instantly started melting and burning with all the oxygen coming from it up inside my nose. NOT FUN!!!

  • ur face is normal ....SYKE

  • Yes, thank God, it's back to normal with only a small discolored area under my mustache and beard. Dr. said that my diving headfirst into my dogs 5 gallon waterbucket, along with rubbing off all the burned skin before the nerve endings started working again were my two lifesavers. Rubbing off all the fired skin was the thing that saved me from having to get plastic surgery, and made it all heal evenly.
