Police Brutality in Baltimore Election 08

Several Police officers ended an election celebration in Baltimore (on East 33rd and St. Paul Street. They arrested several people posing no threat to anyone.

This is a video of one of those arrests; several police took down a middle aged white woman who was simply standing on the side walk near to where the celebration had been taking place.

There were at least 5 other arrests in the same area around the same time done in the same way.

The police in some cases used excessive force (kicking people off their bikes or ramming people to the pavement).

One person arrested was Erin Rae (we do not have footage of her arrest). Anyone with footage of arrests this night PLEASE post your videos and photos and message me.

Yes it was a happy occassion and even the police understood, but the problem was not so much the noise but the people in the middle of the street who kept refusing to get back on the sidewalks. You can only tell a Baltimore City Cop to go F**K themselves so many times before they decide to do something about it. I don't think any of it marred the occassion one bit.

police brutality my ass!, I remember this, it's past 2am and ppl were screaming in the streets, the police got called to break up the crowd, I'm sure alot of these students were drunk and being assholes to the police, from the video it looks like this deuche refuses to get up off the ground and the police are trying to pick them up, that's not brutality go grow a pair of balls

They screwed with the police in directly ignoring the officers' comands. Really, cry all you want because nothing is going to happen about it... whether it was right or wrong. My point was that no matter the circumstances, people need to obey police orders. There are a lot of bad cops out there and there are lots of good. Obviously people didn't listen. If people had listened, they wouldn't have been there to get tazed or record the instance. If you don't like it, Canada's up north.

this was a celebration of the election of a president! i'm sure in other countries it's a lot rowdier than some CV folks. Plus, noise laws = citations, not police agression, chargeless arrests, preventing a journalist from reporting it, etc... it's how the police reacted that's the problem.
