Immediate aftermath and reaction to the 8.9 magnitude earthquake on March 11, 2011 at the AFN Misawa studios at Misawa Air Base, Japan. Footage shot and edited by Jimmy Moreland.
@KDALove Actually he is right. As long as you get out of a building and get at least 100 feet away, the falling debris is not likely to hit you. These are well learned lessons throughout history and any introduction to geology course will highlight this fact.
I was stationed at Mosawa AB Japan from 1986-89...I went through a few smaller earth quakes there...in the north housing area I was shaken up pretty good while holding my little daughter at the time...she wanted me to stop the quake...of course I couldn't but I do recall living there and loved every moment of it. I miss the Japanese culture.
I was in the high school playing music when it hit. It was scary, a TV bolted to the wall was hanging dangerously above me.

@CallamJayce Wrong. You're more likely to get injured outside due to falling glass and buildings.

@ema5676 and the Japanese and Americans work jointly. there is a very strong sense of unity between the two.

@ema5676 it's a self defense force. not a military.

@ImTylerTheCat Japan HAS its OWN military. This air base is an american detachment of the PACAF program. See Wikipedia.
