I've owned my 37" LG LCD TV for a little over 2 years. Its worked fine until the last few days, when THIS started. it works fine for a few minutes, then the screen starts flashing on and off, accompanied by a popping noise. Sometimes it flashes on and off for 20 seconds or so, sometimes the video cuts out and you can still hear audio. Sometimes it shuts off quickly and turns back on after a minute or so.
I've heard of a few similar cases out there online. Anyone have an idea what issue I'm looking at, and how serious a fix this would be???
Thanks!

  • new super mario bros wii

  • bad capacitors !!!. From what i've read this is one of the most common repairs for LCD and Plasma good lock

well, for me, i took it to an local official lg repair place. They quoted $200+ to fix. Instead, i ended up getting a new one. With a good sale, a new one is quite cheap. Specs are similar to the same as my 2 year old tv that died, but new one looks surpriingly better....

  • Its problably tayerd. Of 480p

  • capacitator or alimentation is dead change and all right

  • LG sucks big time, Toshiba the best !

  • mine does the same but dies out quicker with a quieter poping noise

  • Mine has been doing the same thing, and this video is very helpful! Now I can show the repairman what it does, since my TV doesn't always cooperate. I heard from one man that the capacitors don't pop, so there might be multiple problems. I haven't really talked to anyone else yet, but I hope yours works out!

  • just buy sony or samsung

  • This just happened to me tonight. I thought it might blow up.

  • Most LCD's are junk, I bought an LCD vizio and had nothing but problems with it. I did some research and found out the problem I have occurs with all brands of LCD TV's. So If you can, try to avoid buying an LCD Tv all together. They're all crap!!!

  • connect the power cable in your ass hahaha
