Yes I agree it is the current bog standard practise. But I think it should be questioned. There are better ways that are cheaper and more flexible that using false floors. You should be advising a customer not to have a floor void in a data centre or telecommunications room environment. Still it is very nice flat floor so well done I just feel it is a bit old fashioned these days.

In the interests of good air circulation for rack optimised systems, a series of hot and cold aisles or under-floor A/C dedicated for racks is bog-standard practice.
This is what I would do, wish I could have helped, stuff like this is great fun.

Excellent video. Very flat floor too. I thought you said you was building a data centre. Why do you need a false floor? They are not needed. I am genuinely interested as to why you put one in?

How could you do that all by yourself?
Don't forget this DC is build in 2004 and in the past 5 years the techniques for standard DC practices have radically changed. The biggest issues is to just cool the parts where you need cold air and nothing else.
We have in the mean time moved to another DC, with still a false floor, but with a cold corridor. Hopefully have some video ready in a few weeks !
