Senator Crapo questions Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf during the June 30 meeting of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Earlier that morning, CBO had released its Long-Term Budget Outlook for 2010. Crapo, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, focused his questions on long-term budget deficit estimates and factors that may affect these estimates, including Medicare cuts to providers included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the Medicare sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula for physician reimbursement and the alternative minimum tax, or AMT.
