  • This is from 1979, not 1974 surely?

  • @Thermaland, sure it was 1979 for the series and 1974 for the book. Thanks.

  • The power of performance. Patrick Stewart didn't say a word in this movie or Smiley's People, but conveyed everything with his manner. Incredible

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi meeting Jean-Luc Picard. Ultimatly, both were able to outwitt each other.

I really enjoyed the new film, but now you point out the milk bottle was wrong I'm changing my entire opinion about it. Awful film. Christ on a bike...

  • @VindobonaNorikum2 Decent but with a ruthless undercurrent. Moscow Rules even. just got back from watching the new version. Very good (quite excellent in fact) but a couple of flaws... They did well to have the old Trebor Mints wrapper but they couldn't source a pre-1980's milk bottle? and I'm pretty sure they didn't have one hour / while you wait / vision express type opticians in those days ;-)

  • @1stmissingsnowman, it seems to me that we are the last from the old guard. The Cold War time looks so sentimentally decent in our days, doesn't it?

  • @VindobonaNorikum2 gr8 to see this and i like your apology even more. I once watched the entire series backtoback w/ The Spy Who came in from Cold. "What are your qualifications?" "Half a bottle of whisky a day!" Good old Richard Burton :-)
