Showing the southern section of the Lewes to East Grinstead Railway closed in 1958 From the site of Culver Junction to Cinder Hill Tunnel. The line was opened by the London,Brighton & South Coast Railway in 1882 (note the motif on Barcombe Station)The branch to Horstead Keynes and East Grinstead left the Uckfield to Lewes line at Culver Junction. At the site of Culver Junction looking north towards Barcombe Mills Station (seen in the distance) used to stand Culver Junction signal box with the single line to Barcombe & Sheffield Park curving away to the west, the course of the old line can still be quite clearly seen at this point. The only interesting bits of infastructure surving on the closed southern section of the old railway are Barcombe Station which closed to passengers in 1955 and Cinder Hill Tunnel, which was to the south of Newick & Chailey Station.most of the trackbed is now in private ownership, whilst the station at Newick & Chailey has dissapeared under housing developement. The line north of Sheffield Park Station is the preserved "Bluebell Railway".There is an ongoing campaign to reopen the old Lewes to Uckfield line ,see the Wealden Line Campaign
This is an excellent capture of the line. I too line the absence of music or overdone graphics.

Thanks for another great video. It's so refreshing to hear only ambient sounds and not the usual horrible music which many people add to their videos! Keep up the good work.
