August 17, 2009 - Thousands of passengers show up waiting between 2 - 4 hours to board the trains at some stations. A free ride along with complimentary food, coffee, tea, souvenirs made this an action packed day for many people. How long was my wait to board a train? 0 minutes. I started my journey at Langara-49th Avenue Station where this video clip begins. We went for a brief ride going northbound where the clip ends at Oakridge-41st Avenue Station. The final part of the video shows the train leaving Marine Drive Station and heading towards North Arm Bridge to cross the Fraser River.

  • Cool if it was you on board! Hmmmm... that was around 2pm - 3pm when I was heading northbound from Langara-49th to Oakridge-41st. Then 5pm - 6pm from heading southbound at Marine Drive.

  • what souvenirs did they give out

  • All sorts! :-) Paper fans, guidebooks, maps, loot bags from corporate sponsors, "passports", etc.

  • why so much chinese??

  • The line connects to Richmond, where more than half of that city's population is Asian.
