  • very good idea .............. i think you should have added more water to extract all the sweetness in the leaf as stevia is about 300 times sweeter then sugar

  • @srajrane Thanks, I certainly felt pretty clever at the time ; ) Great point I do feel as though I could have gotten much more out of the herb for sure, although the quality of the extract may not have been as potent; however, next time I'll take your advice into consideration and give more quantity a shot!

  • That's a great idea... Have you ever thought about growing your own Stevia?

  • @pattycakeboy No I haven't really because of my lack of growing space (city apartment), but that would be pretty cool! Are you familiar with the kind of conditions needed to grow stevia?

  • What you did there is basically made a Stevia molasses, which is usually made by boiling stevia like tea. So you essentially discovered a shortcut, which is neat.

  • Chick, good info, however can you try to speak and not sound too much like an idiot!

  • @TheShedLife Stevia is also natural and is suitable to be grown in the US unlike sugar which prefers tropical climates. Don't want to get you mad, but stevia is 1000x better because it also cures certain illnesses. Drying them and then turning the stevia to powder is better though.

  • You need alcohol to make a true extract. Any cheap vodka will do. This is more like tea.

Although, the grinding part was genius!

  • I like stevia, but this is not an "extract"

  • Yoy are a cute!

  • You can grow a Stevia plant in a pot, it doesnt take up very much space and one plant will make quite a lot of powder.

They grow well in pots, I have had several.

  • cutie

  • @ReallyPhatChow lady i got a question, if u put the leaves in water and boil the water, will the water be sweet afrain draining the leaves????? thanks
