I finally made it down to the Occupy Wall Street protest to get the look, feel and sense of it for myself. No drama today. Overall, positive & good vibes. Here is some of what I saw...

I've never seen the Hare Krishna sing the mantra in person before. I was particularly intrigued having just watched the documentary "George Harrison: Living In The Material World" on HBO. George spoke of how he could repeat mantras for hours & hours. I see what he meant. I got lost in it for a half hour easy.

Here are some pictures taken this day in Zuccotti Park •

  • Lifts up the spirt (souls) of the participants, doesn't it? Why wouldn't anyone happily chant or sing the Mahamantra? Wonderful scene - very inspiring!

  • First class! Spiritualize the revolution!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like it

  • This is Krishna Consciousness. Krishna Consciousness is not a religion, but a science..

  • Its sublime because your chanting gods names. Not Microsoft or iPod in your head all day. The whole spiritual world is in the mantra, and when you leave this body, you go and hang out personally with the lord. In whatever position you have in the spiritual world. The material world is faulty because you gotta "occupy" to be heard. Its like this because the blind lead the blind and they fall into a ditch.

Krsna's in your heart and he gives those who are pure in heart a chance to understand him

  • @graceroxbury Rama is not avatar. Rama is Krsna for those who are in awe & reverence of god. They go & participate in Rama's pastimes. Krsna is for those in love predominated by sweetness, laughing, joking, playing tricks etc. Who love Krsna so much they don't care if he is god. every person has a unique position, neutral. servant, friend, or lover.

    hang out with them

  • @graceroxbury close... but it's O lord please engage me in your devotional service. There is reference to the maha mantra as the chant for deliverance, the only way back to Goloka Vrndavan...

“‘In this Age of Kali there is no other means, no other means, no other means for self-realization than chanting the holy name, chanting the holy name, chanting the holy name of Lord Hari.’

  • @secretsmastery, I was wrong and you are correct.

  • @graceroxbury Nice try ;)

Hindi came from what language? And isn't God (Krishna) universal and not "Hindu"?

    Just sayin'

  • The word Hare has come from the Hindi word 'Haran' which means to take way or to end. So when one says Hare Krishna, he requests the Hindu God Krishna to take away his sorrows, his shortcomings, his/her failures and pains. Rama is an another avatar of Krishna. One could also chant, Hare Jesus, Hare Christ, I think. If something is bothering you, try chanting this mantra for about 30 minutes and see if it helps you. Thank you for this video of universal message, dabelgrave.

  • sure it is nepali religion 'hindu'.......... nice tho, respect to all religion...

  • awesome video, religiously and political protest fully support from here..
