@blu3vibration Also, honestly, you seem to be slightly hypocritical here. You don't want people to have "male power fantasies" about "dehumanizing others", yet you specifically state that he's dehumanizing "our opponents." How is an Us vs. Them mentality not an act of dehumanization?
-
@blu3vibration The point... I think you missed it. He wasn't saying he WANTED this to happen. In fact, listen to "In the Name of God". It specifically condemns killing people in the name of political ideology. You do realize that this isn't from his POV, right? That it's from the POV of an Iraqi soldier with PTSD. I see it as more him singing about something that he thinks is inevitable, not something he wants to happen.

Im a dirty hippie and I want world peace. Peace for everyone bro. (Unless I dont like you then I hope you die).

Wow, nice male power fantasy about killing your opponents, bro. Dehumanizing the fuckers who dehumanize us will totally leave us all human in the end.

@lovelygreebo That would be one hell of a waste of a good leftie, mate. But someone has to do something. I wish I could see him live.

Halliburton is an energy company...
But yeah; that's basically how it works...
State goes to war and arms production is needed = Military industrial complex gains profit
Tanks and armored cars require imense quantities of fuel; that's where Halliburton, Exxon and Chevron come in place... They sell the energents that fuel the army... And there's some extra for them in Iraq what they didn't have in Korea or Vietnam - OIL...
-
Halliburton is a military equipment company owned by Dick Cheney before and while he was V.P. Most major military contracts were given to Halliburton and Cheney made millions, the song explains how the Iraq war was a lie to gain profit and oil...which it is.
Peace.

Can someone explain to me what this song is all about?

Fantastic song.

go and watch an arena rock show then,
this says it all. i wish the working class soldiers could realise they're injured and killed to make a profit for the military industrial complex.
no war between nations
no peace between classes

The profits..... it's ONLY about the money with corporations. Money before human life. Before family. The only thing (and this is debatable) they won't put money before is their own lives.
