Hystere (2006) serves as an audiovisual metaphor for a specific behavior in physical systems known as hysteresis, a tendency to slow and distorted reaction of a system to forces applied to it. Satoshi's performance on his custom-made electronic wind instrument e-Clambone is a catalyzing input to a set of real-time sonic and visual algorithms that generate microgestures at times brought to the edge of chaos by the nonlinear response of the processes.
