I wouldn't put my face too close, even if you trust the bird. I raise pheasants and chickens and I've gotten my face pecked, even by the bird I raised in my home that slept in my bed.

The main reason I want to buy a house is so I can have a pet turkey. I have spent time on a rescue farm with rescued Thanksgiving turkeys, and I adore them. Their heads are so warm. They let me "tame" the newcomers because I can make them so comfortable that they fall asleep against me. I think we have a good relationship. Thanks for posting.
