They did, sold out nearly every night.
The problem was a crap tv deal and the arena was badly outdated.

They did support them you idiot, the problem was the market they were in couldn't support the NHL salary structure.
With the new NHL system in place, small market teams are now protected.
Face it, Pheonix was a joke to begin with, no one in the United States really cares about the sport, to people in Manitoba, it's a religion.
It certainly isn't a hockey town in Pheonix, they rarely see ice for Christs sake.
