@underoathfan14 They do fine but I wouldn't recommend an automatic if you're going to be doing it. I think if you're looking for offroad I'd stick with a 2 door wrangler. Those are the most efficient.
My H3 got rear ended by a ranger once and left scratchless. I backed into a pole another time and destroyed the rear end of my H3. I guess it depends on the crash. I'm a terrible driver and I've put the H3 through so much. Rear ended my astro, bent the chrome step up bar on the side off-roading. It's been pretty good so far and all I've had is an issue with my electric seat adjusters.
@FusionBoy2010 The brand was killed for politics. Do the math. GM was taken over by the Congress, which was owned by the Democrats, which are owned by the Socialists, which are using the environmental scare to take more control in this country. They have used the Hummer brand as a scape goat for years to focus the hate of their followers on. My H3 got around 20 mpg stock, which is better than most trucks, vans and some cars. Coincidence the brand was killed after the election? I think not.
@FusionBoy2010 I drive a 2008 H3 Alpha. A month ago, I was hit directly from behind by a 2000 Grand Prix. The car was a total loss, my Hummer had a dented license plate, jammed muffler that popped right back out, and a broken screw on my rear view camera, and that was it. The front of the car was folded up. From experience, the H3 is extremely capable offroad, I wheel mine a lot. Using your logic, the only real jeep is the original military jeep, the only real truck is the Model T.
@FusionBoy2010 Wrong. Your information is incorrect. The only similarities that the H2 has with the Tahoe, or the H3 has with the Colorado, is the frame. Even those frames have been highly modified before they were used on Hummers. They added extra crossmembers, better welding and attached the tow hooks directly to the frame. The rest of the Hummers parts are unique to Hummers. The rating was still good, 5/5 and 4/5. The Hummer brand was targeted politically for the global warming scam.
@roozie11 Strange, you're "facts' don't match anyone else's, including the manufacturer's stats. A stock H3 gets around 20mpg from the factory floor. A Prius is actually worse for the environment because of its battery. It is literally made all over the world (using fuel to transport the parts) and then is an extremely hazardous material that needs special disposition at the end of its life. Hummers don't have that.
