  • Gosh who knew this was a sport?

  • @arjeffs Yep, it's unusual-- gotta have something to do in those long months of winter!

  • SO COOL!!!

But i have 1 little Question, our they using downhill or cross country skiies???

  • @iloveandhugemyhorse Downhill. We have also seen a few successful snow boarders, but being a boarder myself, I can tell you that it is much harder than on skis. And cross country skis would be nearly impossible because they are longer, thinner, much less maneuverable, and not really able to make the cuts necessary to swerving around the cones.

  • Go to face book on George Finnells channel to watch me ski jor in Leadville

  • @34xjjnt343 can't find you--

  • I'd rather have a horse than a snowmobile any day!

  • Sorry to disagree, I have watched these people doing this for 4 years now, and the horses don't slip. Some wear shoes with tiny studs or borium spots, some do it barefoot, some with hoof boots which probably have studs for traction. This is prepared snow, not hard-pack ice.

I agree the skier must be careful not to run up on the horse, but he has the option to just let go of the rope and veer off. These dudes who go at high speeds are good skiers, they have to be.
