For a project, I used the audio (and a bit of video) from Pale Blue Films' "We Are Here: The Pale Blue Dot," an AMAZING video. Available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pfwY2TNehw

Music: "Stop Coming to my House" by Mogwai.

Kinetic typography and animations done in Macromedia Flash 8 Pro. Won a Best Animation Award and People's Choice Award at a local student film/animation festival.

  • I don't know what it is about combining animated text with imagery that I find so compelling. I seek out as many examples of kinetic typography as I can find, and you have done an absolutely beautiful job here... it gave me chills! I actually like the way you've made the music overtake the narration near the end, I found it very poignant. I shared your video to Facebook a bit ago. I agree with @zeptimius, below... you need a few zeros after the view count!

  • Great job with the animation. IMO the music is a bit loud and distracting.

  • Fantastic job, this needs a couple of zeros after its view count. PBF version is impressive, but the music almost drowns out Sagan's voice from time to time. Your version fixes that.

  • I saw this today and was blown away. Completely missed your name in the introduction so my impression wasn't coloured by the fact that I already knew you were awesome. I would love to share this with future students. Permission please?

  • Good job, i have been waiting for this. Thank you.

  • amazing

  • Needs more notoriety.

  • I love the kinetic typography--a great job done bringing a wonderful speech into a visual format. Bravo!

  • a triumph!

  • very humbling.
