Granted, there may not be time without the focus on standardized testing to go deeply into every subject, but certain subjects that students or teachers feel hold more merit or are worth exploring should be given that chance.

How can you support standardized testing when its focus is passing/failing an entire school based on a single test -- it leads to teachers who only teach "to the test." Do you have any idea how disheartening it is as a student to be told "We don't have time for your question now, we have to keep to this schedule in order to cover everything for the [insert standardized test name here]."
