    you need different type of transmission, with automatic or manual gear shift you will blow the engine between 30 and 40M/H .Thats why the van Doorne brothers invent variomatic. yes it had all to do with reverseracing !(joke) the DAF(Doorne,s Automobil  Factory) cars are nowerdays collectorsitems,and we take good care of them in the Nederlands (Holland)! This car will reach topspeed forward and in reverse!
