2008, Berlin, Germany, FINA Swimming World Cup, after getting a tough race to the finish from last years champ, Therese Alshammar, Marieke Guehrer came through at the end with a world record in the womens 50m butterfly, 24.99 seconds, to be the world cup winner.   • She is simply the best fly sprinter in the world.

  • Well she holds the Australian record in 50 fly ( 25.60) and her 100 free is 54.08, and made the australian team in both of those events, and its Long Course !
