  • My family owned part of the park, McCusker......I miss it , as it was my playground as a teen. :-) Lot of great times there.

  • @isog I'm a Phillips not a McCusker. Fred was my Great Uncle. His sister-in-law was my grandmother.

  • I wish the park was still here, now it's still called cresent park, but it's like just a big grassy area, and a carousel.

  • It's actually pretty nice now compared to what it looked like when the carousel first reopened twenty-something years ago. If they could do the same thing with Rocky Point with a nice grassy area, maybe some ball fields, amphiteater, fishing dock, and repaired (ceiling collapsed awhile back) Shore Dinner Hall they'd be all set.

  • Ok, this is fantastic! I grew up near the park and started going at age 3 in 1957. Rode every ride in the video including the Zephyr coaster at age 7, the year before they closed it. My question to NewForceFiveFanis where is the Laff In The Dark ride?

It was on the right-hand side of the midway, about four buildings down from the Fish Pond. It was a "spooky ride" but had the most colorful facade in ther park, with "laughing" animal heads and hundreds of clown faces. Do you recall it?

  • @BigTimeParkFan unfortunately I was a child of the 80's and the park was before my time. Only my older brother and third cousins got to experience it as kids before it closed. My family the McCusker's, Martin's, and Phillips ran the concessions stands, games, and some of the rides at the park throughout it's life.

  • My Uncle Ernie ( Bruce) Operated the Bubble Bounce.

I was always riding the Dodgems, (Bumper Cars).

I remember the Motor Launch, down the Board Walk, from the Shore Dinner Hall.

(boat ride ,it had a canopy over the top of it.)

Riding the Merry-Go-Round, catching the brass ring.

My grandmother watching the Merry-Go-Round, my mother doing the same.while we went on rides.

    Best years of my life.

Now you have to drive for hours, and pay a kings ransom, to go to an Amusement Park.

  • A dream of mine was to see pictures of crescent park. Videos to be exact. I would take my son and daughter there every Sunday. We had so much fun. She is gone now...So you can well imagine what this means to me. Than You. :)

  • My mom recognized her grandpa & uncle in this video....awesome!

  • @ColorCodedWorlds it's called Rose Larisa Park now.

  • OMG! At one point as a child I was having nightmares quite often. In one series of nightmares there was a character with a round head and a pointed cap that appeared and would threaten me. He looked just like the ones on the ride in 6:15!!!

  • I remember the roller coaster! I remember it was awesome! I remember the flying fish! I remember I always wanted to go on it but I think it shut down before I was tall enough!

  • @skynetvideo I'll never forget that fun house. It was my favorite part, and it was merely plywood and pare mache. And Still, it beats all of the special effects of things now a days

  • @2000toddowen There was a huge ballroom building at crescent park that burned down in the mid to late seventies
