Not perfect, not exact, but this version should allow amateurs to learn the guitar part. Let me know if there are any Talking Heads songs you wish to learn the guitar parts for, or bass parts for that matter.

  • Hello , great job, can you post a tab please , i can't see what you do!!

    ( sorry for my english)

  • @AlessandroDelNabot sorry but i dont do tabs, i believe everyone can train their ears with lots of time, love and dedication. even if that time is small bits at once. it will be rewarding. maybe i can post another video teaching it if i ever get the time. but i need to say your english was quite alright my friend

  • Can you try out "Mind" for us please!? :D

  • yea i already know it , i've been reluctant to do it cause its an awkard sub-standard tuning, like 3/8 tone below, and if your guitar is not set up really well, the chord harmonics in mind sound like butt terds. but ill do it as a holiday treat for everyone asking me, just expect tuning to not to be perfect

  • Bravissimo!!!!

I wish to see you playing also Don't Worry About The Government! I'dd like to learn that song... help us!

    Ciao!

  • Your wish has been granted. Hope its not too late.

  • @TheNotSid yes

  • I really want to play I Feel It In My Heart or I Wish You Wouldn't Say That.

    can you learn these?

    also thanks

  • hypnotic dancing... and nice tone.

  • @100knowledgeable: - the Gmi -Dmi and bBmaj - Fmaj (it's the relative minor chord to its relative major, i.e. - Gmi its relative minor to bBmaj), the whole part ending on Ami (i.e. you play Gmi-Dmi and then Ami). The ""Na na na na" part then goes (if I remember it right) Dmi - Ami (FlamingBarrel plays I guess D-mi - Fmaj(7)), ending again with Gmi-Dmi phrase and before the verse comes back, end with Ami. So, in the key of Cmaj: I. vi-Imaj7(9), II. VI-ii, v-ii, vi III. ii-vi, v-ii, vi.

  • @100knowledgeable As regards the chords, as far as I can remember, I always played it in C# (maybe my guitar tuned sharp), but for these purposes, let's talk about C. The intro riff is based on Ami and G and it goes on for the first verse (but the bass plays C, which would mean he plays Ami - Cmaj7 with added 9, or to put it simply, he plays G triad over C bass note) . Starting with "Take my shoulders..." it changes to Amaj - G, and at the end of it, Gmi - Dmi (or as FlamingBarrell, bBmaj -Fmaj

  • @AlessandroDelNabot : I can give you the chords for that, that might help you to figure out the rest. Firstly, let me tell, that Byrne mostly play the D,G,B,e string set (taking it probably from the r&b, funk, and afrobeat later). Then, he uses triads (1,3,5) mostly and their inversions (3,5,1, or 5,1,3), which leaves you with a possibility to use either DGB or GBe string sets in this song.

  • Wow..takes me back...my 1st band did this stuff, back in 80. Feeling really nostalgic.Thks

  • Hm, wow...

    But, Thanks! :D
