The Right is in sore need of intellectual strength right now. Besides George Will I can't come up with many names belonging in the WFB Jr. class of thoughtful and articulate principled muscle.
There are many intelligent and knowledgeable people on the right, don't misinterpret. But not that many "intellectuals."
That the increase in wages has to come from somewhere. That somewhere will be from the companies or businesses paying the wages, and they will take it from other workers in the form of layoffs and reliefs - in short, increased unemployment. Your living wage means fewer people make any wage at all.
Delta and zoticus perfectly represent the "peace loving" folks who adore the likes of Chomsky. The fact is, as evidenced by their comments, their hate for those with whom they disagree ideologically exceeds their love of peace. Buckley was a man that stood for a just peace--not acquiescence in the face of communist purges and fascistic leaders.
