but i promise if you go ask a top game developer what software they use they will say maya, prime example being BUNGIE.. or the best selling game of all time, halo.

whoever down there is saying that 3d max is only for gaming you are retarted... its simply a choice in what the developer like . maya and max are both owned by auto dsek. which owns just about eveything that has to do with animation.i go to a school for computer animation w GAME CONCENTRATION. and all the professors talk shit about max. maya is built for rigging far more then max, its just using programs that integrate everything into one piece. ex. you used zbrush for modeling and maya for RIG

Is your character textured already? If so I don't think you need that many faces on your mesh. If you want to do games you should try to do the same thing with half the amount of faces. A lot of games have limits to the number of faces and size of their textures. Just a tip.

R u retard?

Agree.

3d studio max is for video games. maya is for movie animation.

theonlyrealaz, in college animation school (the ones that give you a gme design liscence) they use maya or 3ds max as a primary software, so there for it would be better to learn from that so you already know enough when you get in the school.
Thanks theonlyreallaz but i want to try and get good at Maya so i can move on to character animation for games when im older.
