@TheEnd004500 That's how it is gonna be in BF3 and that is how it was in all core BFs, trust me it is better that way, support class slows down the enemy infantry without the need of an assault near him, but it takes on skilled enemy player regardless of class that the support guy did not see and he is dead because he has no medkits to help himself. Also he is probably gonna stick on the top of a hill or something, stationary, and get owned by an enemy sniper. All that is just my opinion.

@eilam42 I disagree. The medic has an LMG so he could clear out the area to do the job of a medic. Having an LMG with ammo packs could be a bit overpowering.
