St. Tammany Parish and the Honey Island Group of the Sierra Club hosted a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event in Slidell, Louisiana. Sixty volunteers helped process 392 vehicles representing 531 households and collected 19.5 tons of paint and solvents, 8.6 tons of electronics and 2 tons of batteries, ensuring that these hazardous pollutants will never enter Louisiana's waterways.
