for the top of the box or the lid could you have done the same type of finish that you used for the top of the chess board?

hi great vid, just a question, when u moved the hinge further into the lid so that it stopped at around 110 degrees did it not throw it out of centre to the box?

Very nice - I'm refinishing garden benches and and at the point of applying the finish - never used wipe on and found your video. BTW - have you ever been on the website lumberjocks com? A great woodworking site - you'd be a wonderful asset to the community.

@Razsim Most lumber yards carry maple. You may have to go to a specialty dealer if they don't have it where you live.
