SUGARCOATED'S SIDE BAR:
During these times all the TV shows wanted us to mime the entire performance which we were reluctant to do. A compromise was reached with the shows we finally performed on.

We went into the studio and did a special TV mix. We muted the lead vocal and some of the background vocals . We also muted a few instruments .

On the show Cory's lead vocal , piano , hi-hat , toms , Stony & August background vocals are live. The bell hop singers in the background , horn section, Vibes , Guitar , Bass , most of the Drum kit, Percussion , synthesizer are miming. Notice also that you hear but do not see strings.

  • One evening in Georgetown/DC club hopping early 1970's walked into Trammps Club on Wisconsin Ave, NW and heard this infectious song. On the first note couples descended to the dance floor - black, white, latin, asian, middle eastern - beautiful sight to see! I learned latin dance, the hustle, and hand dancing off this song by this band! I'll never forget this song, this band and the night I learned to latin dance!

  • the drummer has great syncopation

  • @58dhart

Let's see. Maybe because she is fully clothed and can actually sing unlike the singers that are out today.
