  • Great video - ignore the losers who complained, the sound is fine - maybe some have too much ear wax... :)

I'm going to take your instructions to make a rear bench seat cover to fit in my VW Camper, i'll be using vinyl, do you have any advice or will it be the exact same process.

    Many thanks - good work

  • @RekoJoker Oh, and I forgot to mention than sometimes you'll see people simply fold the material/vinyl neatly around the corners and staple it on the bottom otherwise sew it the same way. To sew vinyl, preferably use a wedge needle marked for leather/vinyl if you can't find that use a 110/18 needle. Gift wrap/tissue paper on top of the vinyl may help it feed through better-use a wet rag to remove the paper from the seam. Good tips on thriftyfun web site and enter tf705693 in the search

  • Where's the \SOUND! Would be excellent. RE DO IT Please

  • @vizzypatrol I may try to "dub" over it, but since it's the only bench I've covered and I don't have another project like this to do, I can't just do it again :) You can try headphones. I do apologies; didn't know it would be such low volume as I spoke to the camera across the room. I did do a video transcription and yes, I realize that isn't nearly the same.

Any advice on how to dub over would be appreciated.

  • looks good but who makes a video you cannot hear? who has time to mess about finding headphones etc. a complete waste of time

  • @blackdogjackson This was a one time deal and the only time I've done this project. I don't make seat covers for a living nor do I make videos. Since I couldn't find a video AT ALL on how to do this when I needed to recover a bench for myself I made one... for YOU and everyone else trying to figure it out. It's FREE! Oh, did I mention that it's FREE yet? Did I waste MY time taking the time to try to show others how to do this when I didn't even know how. Good luck finding something better!

  • @jamilah112 same

  • This is awesome. I'm making my own bench but was unsure how to sew the top. My bench is a bit different than yours but the basic gist of what fabric pieces to cut and how to assemble them is really helpful. Sound wasn't impossible. It's really nice that you put this up :) Thanks!

  • I had headphones on already so I didn't notice there was a problem til I read the comments. Thank you SO much for this, I 've been wanting to make a cushion seat for a bench but had no idea if I could do it.

  • I suggest headphones for all you who cannot hear her.
