Candy's Room live in Passaic, NJ. The file says 20-9-7, whenever that is. Looks to me to be around '78.

  • Fall Out Boy would probably give anything to be as good as Springsteen was then and is now, there is no way they will last as long as Springsteen. When FOB is releasing new albums 30 years from now then you can talk, maybe.

  • For comment; a contrarian theory:

This song is actually about a guy who's fooling himself about Candy -- he's not one bit more closer than all the other guys Candy sees. But Candy has a way to make him feel so special that he believes that "What. She. Wants. Is... Me." Which of course, is Candy's magic.

What a brilliant song. The only bad thing about it is that it ends.

  • Keep it angry Bruce!

  • @EagleMedieval 9/23/78; his 30th Birthday - see my post above..

  • @robuyube Live, Passaic, NJ, 9/23/73; his 30th birthday; broadcast live on FM up & down the Eastern seaboard via Starfleet radio; I still have the recording...

  • This is the only time Bruce kinda saw God. And it's in no Karaoke book at all. Hey "Boss," why did you depart from this Path? Too Punk? Too Cool? His Irrelevancy doesn't know. :P

  • This is the only Bruce Springsteen song I actually like. The rest of his songs I actively avoid.

  • Capitol Theater , Passaic .NJ New years Eve 1978. Concert was booked for

Southside Johnny. Bruce was the afterparty surprise.

  • I'm not a big fan of Bruce either, only have maybe 7 of his songs stored on my car stereo/iTunes, but the live version of this song is one of them.

  • @GrafficGuy

I knew she wasn't exactly that bothered about it and Bruce seems to sing some different lyrics live but not 99.99%. Iovine seemed to do the same with Graham Parker's 'Endless Night', a really pointless "guest appearance" that did neither any favours.
