  • @RabaSarabinja Sounds fine to me.

BTW, this performer is not Gould. He doesn't even sound like Gould.

He doesn't even look like Gould.

    LOL

  • @RabaSarabinja Those accents are the "meter". He is emphasizing the first beat of all the bars in that particular sequence. You know.... Strong-weak-strong-weak, common time.

It is often important to give the listener a sense of where the beats fall, particularly for a long flurry of notes like that and more importantly because it is Baroque.

And.... your teacher would not kill you.

  • This is one of two Bach pieces I actually have respect for, because believe me when you have Bach EVERY year in RCM you start to develop some hatred towards his style (AND NO OFFENCE BACH WAS A GREAT COMPOSER) especially because I love the romantic period (like Chopin) and every piece is kind of monotonous. ANYWAY, they should have included THIS piece in the RCM cuz I would actually ENJOY playing it every day... but sadly that's not the case...

  • @qwertyasdyaln can one speak of rubato in WTC, where there are no tempo markings?

  • The fugue is delighful, so sprighty, joyful and transparent.

  • @qwertyasdyaln it has to sound as "quasi improvisation".. it's more than allowed in this piece!

  • @ladygaga1me I've studied it as well.. would you post a record on youtube?

  • I am ten and playing this. I love it! <3
