Video Challenger - Road Blaster - Takara - Data East

In Japan Takara produced a short lived VHS based game system called "Video Challenger." If you're familiar with the Action Max, this system is more or less the same core concept, make kids hate their parents for not buying a Nintendo.

Apparently Europe also had the misfortune of getting this game by the hands of Bandai. http://www.youtube.com/user/incog88 has videos of some of the more laughable titles. Among them, Space Challenge was Takara's pack-in.

The tapes I have run about ten minutes each. Shown here are excerpts from one of the more interesting games, Road Blaster (aka Road Avenger.) In addition to shooting targets, the player is also required to "steer" the car.

The original is a Laser Disc game.  What's posted here is a VHS based game (as the description notes.)

I can' imagine how this game would work on a VHS, I'm guessing you would never see any of the death scenes... how could you?
