A beautifully sublime piece of music, that invites the listener to jump aboard for a roller coaster of pop deliciousness. Stop knocking it. This is "Wire's" "funk pop a roll" moment"!

@ragonel I don't think Wire ever attempted to be "kool." It's quite clear from the video that they were self-aware that they were dorks and that they were totally comfortable with that. Whenever they did a music video, they took the opportunity to have fun and be ridiculous(see Colin Newman's "B" for another example).
Refreshing compared to all the douchebag myspace bands today who spend more time posing for press photos than writing music.

Come to think of it, Allen was, as a matter of fact, in 24 Hour Party People. He played Roger Ames, a record company executive. I have also seen Trainspotting, but it was ages ago and honestly I don't remember seeing him. I actually have been planning on watching it again soon. And 24 Hour Party People, too. I enjoy this video myself...nice to see so many familiar faces and go "Oh wait, I know that person! S/he's from (a band, movie, etc.)!" :)

Wasn't he in the film 24 Hour Party People? About Factory Records, Tony Wilson, etc.?

A legendary, innovative band like Wire got the highest chart position in their careers by making shitty, vapid 80s pop (granted, it's really good for shitty, vapid 80s pop).
I'm sure the irony wasn't lost on them, either.

Yes -- Peel (I think it's him) and Sumner at about at 2:57 and 2:53, respectively. Not completely certain it was Morris at 2:55 since he is shown so quickly.
