Zero was knocked into the water. Mary lost sight of him very quickly. Out of anger Mary landed a blow into the samurai mimicing shar-makai's mid section, sending it flying. The samurai kneeled from exhausteon.
Shar-Makai: Not bad... But you'll have to do better than that!
The samurai lunged for Mary once again. Unexpectidly, Zero jumped out of the water and slashed at the samurai before he could get a fatal blow on her.
Shar-Makai: Grk..! H-how did you..?! I saw you just..!
Zero: You've made a fatal flaw... Underestimating your opponent like that.
The samurai grunted, returning to it's 'natural' worm-like state and slowly falling apart into dozens of chunks of flesh.
Mary: *phew* Thank you.
Zero: Do not thank me... But if you're going to fight such risky battles, you'll need to work on your skill... If you want to live. Once I'm done here I can help you... If you're still around.
Mary: Oh, um, thanks...
Mary didn't know if she should take that as an insult or a tip of advice.
Mary: Actually, I was sent here to find you.
Zero: Who sent you?
Mary: Oh, um... Actually, I don't know...
Zero was silent, watching for any sudden movements or change in Mary's facial expression. After half-a-minute his tenshin lessend.
Zero: I guess I can believe you for now...
Mary: What brings you here, anyway?
Zero: Apparently, these monsters called the shar-makai have been attacking this... extra-plannar place... Many people want to help rid the beasts, but no one has pushed them back enough to get into the place of origin... They have been advancing in they're capabilities as the battles have raged on.
Mary: I would like to help.
Zero: ... Your spirit is willing, but you look like you're hurt.
Mary: Oh, I'll be fine.
Mary had a few cuts from the last fight. She then noticed the injured samurai that was fighting the shar-makai before.
Mary: What should we do about him?
Samurai: I'll be *gnh* alright.
The samurai wearily got up, his legs shaking.
Zero: You should have not been so bold, Kenshin.
Kenshin: I should be saying the same about you, Zero.
Mary: You know him?
Zero: Yes... He's one of the many people trying to help.
Mary: Can I be an addition to the help?
Zero: Sure. Just be careful. You're wounded.
Mary: Uh huh.
Mary nodded.
Zero: Need any help?
Kenshin: Nah, I can still walk. And if any of those monsters show up again I can fight them. I think I'm now use to they're new little trick.
Zero stayed silent. He then spoke up.
Zero: What's you're name?
Mary: My name's Mary, Mary Deiyon.
Zero: Well, tell everyone back at town that 'Zero and Mary are going to the point of origin.'
Kenshin face expressed surprise.
Kenshin: But there's only two of you! Groups of 30 or more have gone there and never returned.
Zero: ... And your point is?
Kenshin thought for a moment.
Kenshin: I guess you're right. You were always the kind of person to go against the odds... But what about you, Mary?
Mary: Hehe! Well, if he didn't want me to go with him, I would have gone anyway!
Mary laughed. Kenshin chuckled.
Kenshin: I see. Well I guess I can't stop you two. If I had the strength, I'd come with you guys.
Zero: Don't worry about that. Now... Lets go, Mary.
Zero started running ahead.
Mary: Wait!
Mary had to catch up with him. About 10 minutes later, they reached what appeared to be an empty castle. Zero was fine, but Mary was exhausted.
Mary: *pant* *pant* Is this the *pant* Place? *pant*
Zero: ... Look out..!
Shar-makai, both big and small ambushed them from all sides. As Mary took a stance, Zero drew his saber and hacked through all of them, making a bloody mess. Mary was a little surprised at how quickly Zero killed them.
Mary: I guess I didn't need to help?
Zero: Not yet... This is not like I remembered it... There's suppose to be more of them here... Stay close by.
Mary: Okay.
Mary stayed close to Zero as they entered the empty building. After a few minutes of looking they found a magic circle sitting in the center of a massive chamber. Zero forced his hand into the portal, as if trying to catch something. After a few intense moments Zero pulled his hand out and the portal shattered.
Zero: Is this it? No. There's definatly a trap.
As if on que, two small shar-makai snuck up and quickly bit into them and quickly slithered at two suits of armor that were on display in the abandoned building. They molded with the hollow shells and appeared to animate them. No... They bacame the armor.
Zero: Prepare yourself, Mary. They don't want us to leave.
Mary: Uh huh!
Mary did as Zero ordered as the armors aproached.

Not that hard of a fight... But it was very annoying. Luckily, there are very few skipped frames. Almost forgot to mention that Mary's hypers didn't work on these guys either... It seems like all the ungrabable boses are unafected by them. Oh well, there aren't that many bosses I know that are ungrabable.
