@nclysander I agree that most baritones singing Figaro sound "angry" but this is not the case with all of them. I find that Hermann Prey is the perfect Figaro, he has a smile in his voice & a sunny quality to his singing, Bryn Terfel also has sung very good Figaros without sounding irate. Knut Skram is not well known but yes his Figaro is quite good. He's a young man & I like to think that he's younger than the Count. If anyone should sound angry at all it's the Count!

Skram is actually pretty good; he certainly makes you believe he is a young man on his wedding day, unlike some Figaros, who seem perpetually angry. Cotrubas is of course wonderful.

Even if Knut Skram is not the best Figaro I've heard he is very good and an excellent actor, the girls are fantastics. The only problem is the Count,sometimes he is not in the rythm...
