Safe In The Arms Of Jesus. This beautiful Hymn has always moved me. It was often requested for Funeral Services that I have had the Honor to play for.

Refrain:

Safe in the arms of Jesus, Safe on His breast, There by His love o'er shaded, Sweetly my soul shall rest.

This is a nice Hymn to just close your eyes, relax and feel the Love and Comfort that you will be SAFE In the ARMS of JESUS someday.

*** Please use your headphones when listening to my video's - Thank You.

  • Beautiful rendition. Thanks for posting. This song was written by Fanny Crosby(Blessed Assurance, To God Be the Glory) after her only child passed away tragically at six weeks of age.

  • You're welcome.

Known as an American hymn writer and poetess, Fanny Crosby wrote over 9,000 hymns during her life. Many stories have been told about her. She entered what was then known as the New York Institution for the Blind at the age of fifteen and afterward taught English and history (1847-58).

    A remarkable lady †

  • "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" is a beautiful Hymn, Lance. I remember it from childhood and it's so touching. I've often said to folk I would have loved to have met Fanny Crosby as I love her many Hymns. I find blind people, after initial introductions, so easy to connect with. It's so satisfying being with them as a Sighted Helper on Street Collection Days, especially if a Guide Dog is present! Young and Old love them. Hope you're keeping fine, Lance, and God bless. Charlie (Aberdeen, UK).

  • I play this song at most of the funerals I play for, usually during the prelude.

  • First time I hearthis wonderful song in the New ApostolicChurch in Germany

German Lyrics:"O in den Armen Jesu an der geliebten Brust lässt es sich herlich ruhen

    God Bless you!

  • This song was played at the funeral of my great-grandfather, who died when only 27 way back in 1912. Hearing this gave me a sense of connection. Thanks.

  • this is a very lovely rendition, very touching.

  • I am very happy to hear from you and I had the best sleep last night thinking of the beautiful Gospel Hymns still playing in my mind. May God Bless you always and I hope to put some new videos on my profile page playing the Gospel Hymns I know as well.

  • Your welcome, one of my favorites too †

  • Lance - this is beautiful. I have always liked this tune. Thank You so much.

  • Your welcome - a great Hymn, I look forward to your post †

  • This is one of my all-time favorite gospel hymns. I was asked to play it for a funeral a few months back; I took that opportunity to write an organ arrangement. I hope to post it when we get our new (to us) Wurlitzer 320...and a video camera. Meanwhile, thank you for a lovely and sensitive rendition.
