  • Is it possible to be constipated when you have colostomy? Please don't take it offensive, I am just curious.

  • @awesomekid5436 That is a great question, and there is no offense taken. You can still get constipated with a colostomy. I have not had to deal with constipation however I have had a blockage before.

  • Thanks. This was very helpful. I recently had a colostomy and am interested in all I can find out it and how to care for my ostomy.

  • @alecchris02 I am glad that my videos have been helpful. If you have any specific questions please let me know and I would be happy to answer them or make a video on the topic.

  • how do you get colostomy? im just really curious because i really dont want it, no offence.

  • @TheQaz95 No offense taken. There are many ways to get an Ostomy. I ended up with an Ostomy because my Crohns killed off you Colon and part of my small intestine and I had to have it removed. Having your colon remove due to Colon cancer would be another way to end up with a Ostomy. I hope this helps with your question. If you are still wanting more information just ask.

  • Thanks for the help... need to educate ...my 13 year old grandaughter also suffers from Crohns and has just had surgery and now has a bag to live with

  • @TheQaz95 If you have an operation on your intestines (large or small) they will put one in to help heal the operation (less irritation as well).

  • (1) why is there an electrical plug near the toilet i have never seen that

    (2) how does someone so young need one of those?

  • @outpatient83 Hey I was just reading this and i to have Crohns and it killed my colon but instead of a colonostomy bag i got a illiosotmy bag its lower then the other and how old where u when u got it i was 13. 14 now

  • I like your ideas with the water, I was taught to roll up the end about 1 inch before emptying have you seen that way or tried it ?

  • hey thanks for all your videos. my grandma is 75 and she got her colostomy done almost 2 weeks ago. she's had trouble emptying it, and she can kneel down because she's too old to do so, so she's been using a container and then dumping into the toilet. do you know of other easier ways to do this? thanks.

  • @TheQaz95 bowel obstruction can do it, as well as something called a volvulus (bowel loops over itself causing necrosis (tissue death). Perforations in the bowel (can be caused by surgery or mechanical means) can all do this as well as Chrons and other gastrointestinal disorders. Hope this helps
