All the cutscenes for the quest 'I Know You'
Who is this mysterious man, is he God, Satan, Death or Marstons Father.
To clarify, no you cannot complete this after John dies, however it does not affect your 100% completion so you will still be able to get 100%.
The locations to find the stranger quest are as follows:
1st location - Just south of Mescalero, Hennigans Stead
2nd location - Just south of El Matadero, Diez Coronas
3rd location - Beechers Hope, Great Plains

He's not "God" or "Satan" or any other "Good vs. evil" mythology character. He's too neutral. He assigns John missions where he has a clear choice to make. He doesn't try to influence John's choices.
At the end of the day, I suppose he's whoever you want him to be. But the whole point is he's something that John can't possibly understand fully while he's still alive.

@PaulG85 Well if john marston chooses the honouray path meaning good path i don't think satan would want his son to be good.

The fact that Johns last encounter with the man is at the place where he will be taking his dirt nap does seem to support the idea that he is the Reaper. But, as some have already said, he may be the visual representation of Johns moral conscience. The possibilities are endless with this guy!
