VISSIM model of proposed Nanning East Station, a new high speed rail station serving the capital city of Guangxi Province, located in south west China, close to the border with Vietnam. The design concept was a one way road network which does not require traffic signals. Colin Buchanan worked in partnership with the 2nd Railway Design Institute to develop this scheme. CB also led on the development of the demand forecast for the new station.

  • Wow

  • terrible planning, future cities should ban private transport and have a well integrated ublic transport system of HSR to other cities, commuter trains, trams/LRT and hyper frequent buses. China, don't fall into the same trap as the US.

  • Beware of car-based cities. We don't want to end up like North America...

  • those roads are ways too wide... completely just separates the city......if this is the direction every city in china is going.. then i fear for the future of china.. btw.. where are the people... i think that's the problem.. they are not thinking about the people.... they care more about cars...

  • awesome!
