@jayxoxoxable "Big band" was whites playing swing and jazz, music created by African Americans. Dizzy Gillespie was big advocate of Afro-Cuban jazz and contributed greatly to its development. The great Chano Pozo was a member of his band and Gillespie also played with Mario Bauza. He discovered legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval on a tour of Cuba.
