In November 1990 JAM created a series of custom jingles for the VH-1 cable network. The idea was to create a new and very different look for their station IDs. Yes, the dancers did actually lip-sync to the jingles! The video elements were produced by Fred/Alan Inc., working with two different video houses in the New York area. This is just a sample of the many different pieces that were created.

  • @RetroBoyWontDie VH1 and MTV are BOTH from Viacom, so it was bound to happen sooner or later.

  • at :37 that's totally Bryan Bratt (Sal from Mad Men)

  • @JAMcreative Imus was a VIDEO JOCK? holy SMOKES!

  • cheeseball as hell (80s leftovers) but still killer to see again (always remembered the two blondes "Vh1...VH1!!!). always more of a vh1 guy than MTV (until it became the same craphole embarrassment that MTV is now).

  • BTW, it definitely made my day since this vid was posted on my 23rd birthday.

  • goog god! the old school VH1! I remember these when I was a kid. Thanx!

  • The fashion seems like the mid 90's

  • I remember the acappella one that went (I think it was another one with the dog): "VH-1, the GREATEST... HIIIIITS!!!!" Shame they didn't put that one in this vid, but I'm glad they put in the other one ("VH-1... VIDEO HITS OOOONE!!!")

  • Thanks for posting this! :) Brings back memories from vh1 in 1991 and '92. I have a few of these taped with the same music, but the people on screen in slightly different motions.
