the priest is his dad, look at the lyrics, she was holding her red head in her hands, not someone elses. i dont think we'll ever know who the milkman is

Man this song is so powerful live, especially when everyone starts singing the La La's at the end and then get softer. Amazing Amazing concert. I went on the 15th though.

you beter go and ask the milk man ;)

This song is kind of sad..:(
But it's very well writen. Jack is a real poet! You have a very steady hand Jakenstein77:) nice job!!

the blue tattoos are bruises, I guess. Metaphor for a person having bad character because of a difficult childhood, I would say

I hope there's a song called "the milkman" or something on the next album or a single, that continues it.
Great

I don't think the dad is the priest or the milkman. Apparently he's been "paying all the bills for years" when the mother pulls out "an envelope filled with money"...this indicates he's been sending money by mail, from somewhere else. Plus, the priest is said to be older than the boyfriend, and the boyfriend seems pretty old, due to his blueing tattoos...

wtshock92 is right I think. Also, i think the milkman is his brothers dad!

no, CorySem6, i'm pretty sure his dad is the preist and the red head is his mom's own red hair, cuz we all know Jack like to include women w/ red hair in songs. also, another reason his dad is the preist is cuz the boyfriend beats up the priest and then billy kills the man who left his dad in disgrace.
