Here it is! This is the maiden voyage of my multi-touch MIDI controller! Since this video, I've calibrated the camera and tweaked my blob tracking settings so it's much smoother to use than what you see here. which uses Flash as the UI (which is super easy to edit some very intuitive XML). CCV tracks the blobs. Flash is the UI (is super easy to edit some very intuitive XML -- all drawing API, I might add). Max/MSP is the bridge between Flash and MIDI, and MIDI Yoke gets the MIDI into Ableton Live.

Working on Win and Mac distributables soon. What should I call this? The Freemur? ;)

Note the macro button at about 1:15. I have all the volumes selected as "macro targets". The two buttons in the top right send -127 / 127 (respectively) to all selected targets, so you can mute or max out all volumes at once. I also have the volume range limited so even when I'm maxed out on the controller, I'm only at 0db in Live. Try THAT with a hardware controller. :D

  • Wow your app is alot more advanced than mine! are you going to release it? i just finished a new LLP setup and would love to give it a go

  • Yep, I'm hoping to have distributables this week. From there, I'm a bit unsure how to proceed. Options are to really finish out the Flash one (with drag/drop editor, etc), do one contained entirely in a Max/MSP/Jitter runtime, or go all C++. Hmmm...

    I tlooks great!

  • dude nice ... hows the process going so far ?

  • $50 for used 22" monitor, $30 PS3eye cam, $20 for 2 x 780nm IR lasers.

  • $100 to you maybe. But the end user.....please expain how the touch screen, camera and laser was less than $100?! i cant believe it was that cheap.

  • @boldswede

My new one written in C#/C++ on a LCD screen cost a total of ~$100 to build. That's used monitor, camera, and lasers. You know of something cheaper on the market?

  • seems that you didn't release it yet..
